Community Marketing Specialist


Cumberland County FCU is hiring a Community Marketing Specialist at its Falmouth location.

Purpose:

The primary role of this position is to support and organize our community outreach and events while maintaining our social media accounts and online presence. This position will perform a wide range of marketing duties including serving as a credit union advocate while positively promoting the CCFCU brand.

Requirements & Expectations:

  1. Community Outreach & Events:
    • Represents the credit union at 75% of the local events to promote products and build relationships with potential members.
    • Organizes and coordinates community events, sponsorships, volunteers, and member appreciation activities.
    • Manages event logistics, from setup to breakdown, ensuring smooth execution of volunteer and member engagement.
  2. Social Media Coordination:
    • Manages and creates content for all social media platforms on a weekly basis.
    • Monitors social media messages and responds promptly to questions and requests.
  3. Member Engagement & Growth Support:
    • Aids in promoting our VIP program, educational workshops, and financial literacy initiatives.
    • Helps with implementing strategies to attract new members and retain existing ones.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Required to attend and assist with events outside of office hours often, including evenings and weekends.
  2. Assists with marketing campaigns including readerboards, ATM graphics, in-branch signage, and collateral to promote the credit union’s products & services.
  3. Helps to maintain consistent branding across all platforms.
  4. Orders premiums and collateral for events.
  5. Produces monthly employee newsletter.
  6. Assists with press releases and distributing to local media sources.
  7. Provides administrative support for marketing projects as needed.
  8. Maintains a thorough knowledge of the credit union operations, policies, procedures and applicable compliance law. Knowledge shall include products and services (including applications), credit union philosophy, and professional cross-selling and service skills.
  9. Enthusiasm, being proactive, and eagerness to learn is necessary.
  10. The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively is necessary.
  11. Highly service-focused with a desire to contribute to the well-being of our local communities is needed.
  12. A professional positive attitude and friendly demeanor is required.
  13. Strong team player with the ability to work independently when needed.
  14. Performs other duties as assigned.

Environmental Demands:

  1. The employee must frequently work in moderately noisy conditions. Must be able to successfully work from home when instructed.
  2. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly work outside an office setting. This includes indoor and outdoor events.

Technical Knowledge:

  1. Skilled in social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, YouTube) is required.
  2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required.
  3. Experience with Canva and SharePoint desired.
  4. SEO and website content management skills a plus.

Education and Experience:

  1. 2+ years of experience in a marketing, customer service, or membership support role required.
  2. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a keen attention to detail.
  3. A degree or training in marketing, communications, or a related field preferred.
  4. Credit union or financial services experience is a plus.

Physical Demands:

  1. Requires the ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
  2. Work is performed while standing, sitting, and/or walking.
  3. Ability to lift up to 57lbs.
  4. Requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching as needed.
  5. The ability to travel to all branch locations and events is frequently required.
  6. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
