The County FCU is hiring a Collections Manager for either its Presque Isle or Old Town location.

This position will manage the personnel and processes required to coordinate all collection efforts of the credit union. Assist in the preservation of the credit union’s assets by controlling delinquent loans, Visa, negative share, and draft accounts, as well as by collecting delinquent loan payments and/or recovering collateral. Answer members’ questions regarding delinquency and provide and perform a variety of account maintenance. Assist members over the phone or in person to establish payment arrangements for past due or delinquent accounts in order to minimize the impact on a member and minimize loss to the credit union. Assist members when life events happen. Responsible for directing delinquency control measures and coordinating collection activity. Position contacts members with past due balances, assists members with establishing payment arrangements, and follows up with members who do not honor prior payment arrangements. Identify member hardships and facilitate review of member requests for assistance. Responsible for the proper and legal repossession of collateral securing a delinquent loan, of the upkeep of the collateral while in credit union possession and legal disposition of that collateral in the best interests of the credit union. Follow department procedures to ensure third-party disclosure and collection practices meet statutory mandates. Represent the credit union in dealings with attorneys, collection agencies, and courts. Responsible for proceedings involving bankruptcy (Chapters VII and XIII). Supervises collection staff and guides and advises the team on areas of responsibility when questions or situations arise, including performance management, training, and mentoring.
