Saco Valley CU is hiring a Branch Manager at its Saco location.
Saco Valley CU, a 2024 Best Place to Work in ME, seeks to add a Branch Manager to our team. This Branch Manager will be based at the newly-updated Saco branch at 500 Main Street.
The ideal candidate for this position will exercise good judgment and leadership in various situations, use superb communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and balance competing priorities. This role focuses on ensuring the branch meets organizational, financial, operational, service, and growth goals. The Branch Manager will be responsible for overseeing and supervising a team of Member Services Representatives.
- Assists in hiring, reviews, schedules, trains, and monitors the work of branch personnel: conducts performance reviews; allocates resources to meet operational needs within the department; reviews and approves, denies, or modifies department recommendations from subordinates.
- Resolves member issues, complaints, and concerns and keeps management apprised of situations that may require additional escalation.
- Assists members in account opening, loan applications, bookings and closings, and any other account or loan requests.
- Monitors branch operating results relative to established objectives and ensures appropriate steps are taken to correct unsatisfactory conditions.
- Maintains communications with management; attends scheduled management meetings.
- Represents the branch as appropriate in its relationships with members, sponsor organizations(s), suppliers, other financial institutions, and similar groups.
- Controls past due and charged-off accounts for the branch.
- Monitors all branch activities to ensure they are in compliance with established credit union policies and procedures.
- Maintains a cohesive, highly trained, motivated staff sufficient to meet daily branch demands.
- Promotes a positive culture within the branch by example. Coaches and develops employees to identify cross-sales opportunities.
- Effectively evaluates the branch’s efficiency and develops specific recommendations for improving personnel, facilities, products, pricing, policies, and processes.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Please Note: This role requires occasional Saturday availability. An additional $25 a day will be paid for work occurring on Saturdays. The Saturday hours are 7:45 a.m.- 12:15 p.m.; these times may vary based on opening and closing responsibilities.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Two years to five years of similar or related experience preferred.
- A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school or completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program preferred.
- A valid drivers license; the use of a serviceable automobile that is properly registered and proper liability automobile insurance as required by state law.
- Episys experience is preferred but not required.
- Operate with a high degree of ethics and maintain confidentiality of customers and accounts.
- Strong written communication skills, including letter and report-writing ability.
- Must be friendly, courteous, and sensitive to the needs of customers and coworkers.
- Must be able to lift cash boxes and cash bags of approximately 30 pounds.
- General office equipment such as calculators, computers, photocopiers, and scanners.
