Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger has once again been selected to receive a $1 donation for every $2.50 Fight Hunger Bag sold at Hannaford Supermarket’s Bangor location during the month of November. The store is located at 653 Broadway (Bangor). The Fight Hunger Bags are located on displays around the store and at the checkout.
If your credit union has a branch near this location, or if you have friends and family in the area, please consider sharing information about this unique fundraiser. The Broadway store is the only location where a Fight Hunger Bag purchase will benefit the Campaign for Ending Hunger in November. All funds raised will be directed into the Campaign’s general account.
In addition, the Campaign will receive $0.25 from every Hannaford Snack Pals Plate sold at this store next month. You will find these 2/$5 plates in special displays at the store.
With two different opportunities to combat hunger in November, it is easy to make a difference. In June, $579 was raised from Fight Hunger sales at two stores. These dollars really add up!
Hannaford has created a variety of promotional materials credit unions can use to help advertise the fundraiser. These materials include:
- Sample email/newsletter message to share with staff/volunteers/members (the messaging template can also be used to develop social media posts)
- Social media graphic for Facebook/LinkedIn and Twitter (please just be sure to reference the Broadway store location)
- Printable Flyer (prints on a standard 8.5” X 11” piece of paper)
