The Maine Credit Union League has endorsed Senator Angus King (I) in his re-election bid, and incumbents Chellie Pingree (D) and Bruce Poliquin (R) in their campaigns for Congress in Districts 1 and 2 respectively.

When making an endorsement, the League’s Political Involvement Committee considers several criteria:  incumbency; track record of supporting credit union issues; and candidate relationship to a credit union(s). The League does not consider party affiliation when making its endorsement decision.

“Each of these members are strong advocates and we appreciate what they have done to support credit unions here in Maine and across the country,” said Elise Baldacci, Vice President of Governmental Affairs for the Maine Credit Union League.  “We look forward to continuing our work with them and wish them our best heading into November.”

The grassroots power of our credit unions is an asset to any of these credit union-friendly candidates.  To learn how you can get involved in a campaign, we encourage you to review the League’s Political Involvement Guide.
