Join the League in October as we host two virtual Ascensus IRA Trainings to help credit union employees understand IRA transactions and rules.
Day one will be held on October 22 and will cover the basics of IRA. A course description is below, along with the fee and a link to register.
IRA Essentials gives attendees a solid foundation of IRA knowledge. Exercises are included throughout the day to help participants apply information to job-related situations. Attendees will leave this session able to work with IRA owners and process basic IRA transactions with confidence. This is a beginner’s session; no previous IRA knowledge is assumed. Attendees should bring a hand-held calculator. Course topics may include:
- Introduction and Establishing IRAs
- IRA Funding
- IRA Distributions
- IRA Portability
The virtual course will begin at 9:00 am and go until 4:30 pm with time allotted for lunch and breaks. The fee to attend is $209; $149 for credit unions under $50 Million in assets; and $269.00 for Associate Members of the League. Please click here to register.
Day two will be held on October 23 and will build on IRA knowledge. A course description is below, along with the fee and a link to register.
Ascensus IRA Advanced Training builds on the attendees’ basic IRA knowledge to address some of the more complex IRA issues that their financial organizations may handle. This is an advanced session; previous IRA knowledge is assumed. The instructor uses real-world exercises to help participants apply information to job-related situations. Topics will include:
- Complex Transactions
- IRA Excess Contributions
- Required Minimum Distributions
- Beneficiary Options
- IRA Withholding Requirements and the New Withholding Forms
