University CU (UCU) is pleased to share Shauna Baker has been promoted to the newly added role of Vice President of Member Experience and Martha Ward, ISSMP, CISSP, has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Technology & Digital Experience.
In this new role, Baker will devote her expertise to enhance the member experience at every touchpoint. Gaining a deep understanding of what members need and expect from their UCU relationship allows for a credit union experience that is tailor-made at any life stage.
As SVP of Technology & Digital Experience, Ward will continue to deliver a highly productive technology strategy to best support the credit union team and build on the digital experience by providing the best tools possible in a safe banking environment.

Baker’s career at UCU spans more than two decades, during which she has held roles across lending, operations, and member service. Most recently serving as Loan Operations Manager AVP, her career progression reflects steady growth and a consistent ability to step into new responsibilities with the skill and perspective that position her well for this senior leadership role. As VP of Member Experience, Baker will oversee the credit union’s retail branch structure, deposit operations, and the Bank Secrecy Act and fraud departments.
Since joining UCU in 2022, Ward has strengthened the credit union’s technology strategy, furthered cybersecurity, improved digital delivery, and advanced the online and mobile tools members rely on. Her work ensures that the systems behind the member experience are reliable, secure, and easy to use.
Ward holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems from Husson College, as well as her ISC2, Information Systems Security Management Professional (ISSMP) designation, and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)—demonstrating her knowledge and ability to implement and manage a best-in-class cybersecurity program.
