UCU Plans Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at New Augusta Branch

University CU (UCU) has officially opened its first brick and mortar location in Kennebec County. The new branch, located at 67 Sewall Street in Augusta, features a fully renovated space designed to offer UCU members a comprehensive range of financial services.

To celebrate and welcome the community to UCU, a three-day open house will be held July 23 – 25 with activities, refreshments, and product specials. To kick off the celebration, a ribbon cutting ceremony with the Kennebec Valley Chamber of Commerce is taking place on Tuesday, July 23 at 12:00 pm. UCU members and the public are welcome to attend.

“Opening our first branch in Kennebec County is a significant milestone for UCU,” said Renee Ouellette, President and CEO at UCU. “This new location demonstrates our dedication to being Here for U and extending a warm welcome to Mainers across the state. We look forward to becoming an integral part of the Augusta community and building lasting relationships with our members here.”

To lead the Augusta branch, UCU promoted Bryan Doby to Branch Manager. Doby brings extensive experience from his previous role as a Senior Member Services Representative in Portland. As Branch Manager in Augusta, Doby will oversee daily operations, foster new business opportunities, and support members and the local community.

The 67 Sewall Street branch is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, including UCU’s expanding fleet of video teller machines. The newly renovated space includes a welcoming lobby and dedicated areas for members to meet with UCU product specialists. Members may conduct a variety of transactions from this location, including real estate, consumer and member business loan closings, UCU Wealth Management meetings, financial education programming led by UCU’s Certified Credit Union Financial Counselors, and more.
