TruChoice FCU recently awarded four high school graduates each a $1,000 scholarship to help them pursue a two or four-year college degree. Cole Tomuschat, Natalia Perkins, Megan Olmsted, and Molly McKinney were selected as this year’s TruChoice FCU Scholarship recipients.
- Tomuschat will be attending Anna Maria College, studying government;
- Perkins will be attending Saint Joseph College of Maine, studying nursing;
- Olmsted will be attending the University of Massachusetts Boston, studying social work/psychology; and
- McKinney will be attending the University of New Hampshire, studying psychology.
To be eligible for a credit union scholarship, applicants were asked to write an essay sharing their interests and goals. They also were required to outline any activities they participated in at school and/or within their community. With an outstanding pool of applicants, the credit union’s Scholarship Committee had a difficult decision when selecting this year’s winners.
Ken Acker, CEO & President shared, “We had more applicants this year than ever before, making it tough to choose just four! It’s always so incredible to see the passion and thoughtfulness of these future leaders.”
In addition to awarding these four scholarships, TruChoice FCU made a $3,000 donation earlier this year to The Maine Blue Collar Scholarship Fund, supporting individuals pursuing careers in the trades across Maine.
