Earlier this week, sixteen credit union champions were inducted into the Credit Union House Hall of Leaders to recognize their significant contributions to the credit union industry. One of the honorees included Tricorp FCU’s longtime President, Steve Roy.
“I am delighted that my friend, Steve Roy, is being inducted into the Credit Union House Hall of Leaders,” shared Joe Bergeron, President of the Association of Vermont Credit Unions and Secretary of the Tricorp FCU Board of Directors. “Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to work with many exceptional people in this industry and Steve is certainly among them. His longevity in the credit union movement—which spans over four decades—is a testament to his strong commitment to service and People Helping People. Our Board of Directors was pleased to nominate him for this special distinction, and we are grateful he is being honored in this way. His legacy deserves to be a permanent part of Credit Union House history.”
The inductees were honored at a special ceremony at the Marriott Marquis in Washington, DC. The event served as a kick-off to this year’s Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC).
“Steve joins an exceptional group of credit union champions—including Maine’s own John G. Murphy—in receiving this exceptional honor, and I couldn’t be happier for him, “said Cris Wescott, League Interim President. “On behalf of the Maine Credit Union League and our members, we applaud the Tricorp Board of Directors for nominating Steve for this recognition and congratulate him for being one of the 2024 Hall of Leaders inductees.”

“Steve Roy is the definition a true credit union leader because of his dedication, commitment and contributions,” added Ryan Poulin, Chief Executive Officer at New Dimensions FCU and Chairman of the Tricorp FCU Board of Directors. “Throughout his career, Steve has served as a tremendous advocate for our industry, while also defining what it means to offer outstanding service.
