(From S&P Global) – S&P Global Market Intelligence recently released its list of the 100 Best Performing Credit Unions in the United States. Three Maine credits unions—OTIS FCU, Central Maine FCU, and Oxford FCU—were included in the 2024 ranking, which analyzes financials for the year ending on December 31, 2024.
To compile this ranking, S&P Global Market Intelligence calculated scores for each based on six weighted financial metrics:
- Member growth (20%)
- Shares and deposits per member (20%)
- Net worth as a percentage of total assets (20%)
- Return on average assets (20%)
- Delinquent loans as a percentage of total loans (10%)
- Net charge-offs as a percentage of average loans (10%)
To be included in the ranking, a credit union must have reported at least $100 million in total assets and a net worth ratio of at least 7% as of December 31, 2024.
In the ranking results, OTIS FCU came in 12th place; Central Maine FCU came in 19th place; and Oxford FCU came in 76th place.
