Thirteen credit unions have been included on the 2022 Best Places to Work in Maine list. The Best Places to Work program recognizes companies that have established a consistently outstanding workplace environment. It is part of a long-term initiative to encourage growth and excellence in businesses across Maine.
The 2022 Best Places to Work in Maine list is compiled by the Maine State Council of the Society for Human Resource Management and Best Companies Group, and is comprised of 100 companies in three distinct size categories: small (15-49 U.S. employees), medium (50-249 U.S. employees), and large (250+ U.S. employees). These companies entered a two-part process to determine the Best Places to Work in Maine.
In the small employer category, credit union winners include:

- Saco Valley CU
- Trademark FCU
- TruChoice FCU
In the medium employer category, credit union winners include:
- Acadia FCU
- cPort CU
- Downeast CU
- Evergreen CU
- Maine Savings FCU
- Maine State CU
- Midcoast FCU
- NorState FCU
- PeoplesChoice CU
The League and Synergent opted not to enter this year’s Best Places to Work in Maine program. Instead, the League and Synergent have plans to enter a national competition that is focused more specifically on employee engagement.
Partners endorsing Best Places to Work in Maine include Mainebiz, the Maine State Chamber of Commerce and Maine HR Convention. The specific rankings of the winners will be revealed in a special publication of Mainebiz later this fall.
