The League is providing Good Shepherd Food Bank with $25,000 to support its response to COVID-19. Good Shepherd Food Bank has been working hard to ensure Mainers have continued access to the food they need during this critical time.
“Maine credit unions have a long partnership with Good Shepherd Food Bank,” said Cheryl Lancaster, Executive Vice President at the Maine Credit Union League. “Over the last several weeks, we’ve been in close contact with their leadership to determine the best way we can help. We know many of Good Shepherd Food Bank’s agency partners need assistance, especially as those organizations deal with closures and reduced hours. We hope this donation will help get food in the hands of those who need it in communities across our state.”
Good Shepherd Food Bank has added a “Find Food” section on its website to identify local resources that can assist Mainers. The page also contains an updated list of local food pantry updates and closures. Credit unions should consider sharing Good Shepherd Food Bank’s Find Food link on their websites and social media channels to educate members about this important resource.
If your credit union would like to make a contribution to support Good Shepherd Food Bank using your credit union’s Ending Hunger funds, please submit a donation request to endinghunger@mainecul.org.
