Support For CU Week Supplements Encouraged

With International Credit Union Week (ICU) a month away, your League is busy editing and finalizing all editorial content for the supplements that will appear in all seven of Maine's daily newspapers during CU Week (October 11-17).  While your League's Statewide Awareness Campaign has committed to supporting the supplements by purchasing the back page of each, the success of the supplements is contingent upon the support of individual credit unions and affiliated organizations.  Together, the supplements will reach nearly 500,000 consumers through print, and thousands more online.

Your League writes and supplies all articles for each supplement, so the content is customized to Maine CU topics and highlights.  The theme of International Credit Union Week is "People Helping People," a theme that not only highlights the personal connections members have with their credit union, but also the deep roots credit unions have to their communities.

Debra Trautman, VP of Corporate Marketing for your League, said, "The CU Week supplements provide a unique opportunity to focus on Maine credit unions, and to reach more than half a million Maine consumers.  We work hard to get every daily paper to commit to printing a CU Week supplement and put significant time and money into having a consistent and strong message reach Maine consumers, but the support of credit unions and others in purchasing ads for one or more of the supplements remains a critical piece in order for them to continue.  Your League encourages credit unions to participate in the appropriate supplement(s) in their region."

Supplements will appear in The Bangor Daily News; Journal Tribune; Kennebec Journal; Morning Sentinel; Portland Press Herald; Sun Journal; and Times Record.  Each section is filled with articles about credit unions, such as how credit unions save members money with better rates and lower fees, how credit union service makes a difference in the way members conduct their financial business and all the convenient services credit unions offer, including online account access, mobile banking, bill pay, surcharge-free transactions, and shared branching.

To support one or more of the supplements with an ad, please contact the advertising representative(s) at the paper(s) in your area.
