Recognize the Signs: Elder Financial Abuse

This week, Jake Holmes, the League’s Financial Literacy and Outreach Coordinator, spent time with WGME 13’s Marissa Bodnar to talk about World Elder Abuse Awareness Month and how to spot the signs of elder financial abuse.

As a network, credit unions are deeply committed to protecting our most vulnerable members from financial exploitation. Throughout the month, the League will be working to raise awareness about elder financial abuse. The League also will be working with the state and other stakeholders to update Senior$afe materials and curriculum.  Senior$afe is an important training program which helps staff at financial institutions recognize the signs of elder financial abuse.
