Polar Bear Golf Tournament Delivers Strong Results for Charity

The team from PeoplesChoice CU once again hit the greens with their credit union colleagues to deliver big results for some of their favorite causes. The annual golf tournament, now in its 19th year, was held on September 29 at the Prout’s Neck Country Club to benefit Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger, CULAC, and Special Olympics Maine.

“It was a record-setting year,” said Luke Labbe, President of PeoplesChoice CU. “Funds are still coming in, but we expect to have raised nearly $30,000! With this year’s total, the annual event has generated a quarter of a million dollars since we began 19 years ago for Ending Hunger, Special Olympics, and CULAC.”

The tournament also is known for its popular skirt drive hole. At this special spot, the golfers sport wild and colorful skirts, adding to the festive spirit of the day. This year’s attire did not disappoint. A few snapshots from the hole are below.

Congratulations to the PeopleChoice CU team on another successful event.
