PeoplesChoice CU is pleased to announce several key leadership promotions that reflect the organization’s commitment to growth, excellence, and member success.
Luke Labbe
Luke Labbe has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer of the credit union. Labbe brings over two decades of dedicated service as President, having led the organization with a steadfast commitment to empowering members and fostering financial wellness. A respected leader in the credit union industry, he serves on the boards of both the Maine Credit Union League and Synergent. Labbe holds a degree from the University of Maine and remains an active advocate for credit union initiatives. Outside of the office, he enjoys golfing, fishing, mountain biking, and skiing with his family.
Adam Warfel
Adam Warfel is stepping into the role of President. He has served as the Chief Financial Officer since 2020. Warfel brings a wealth of financial expertise to his new role, including his prior experience as VP of Finance and Accounting for the Maine Credit Union League and Synergent. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a Master’s degree from the University of Southern Maine, Warfel is well-positioned to guide continued growth and member-focused initiatives. He also serves on the Board for Apex Youth Connection in Biddeford. In his free time, Warfel enjoys skiing with his family, mountain biking, and camping.
Alex Makinen
Alex Makinen has been promoted to Vice President of Human Resources (HR). In this capacity, she will join the credit union’s leadership team. Makinen is a seasoned HR professional with nearly 20 years of experience spanning nonprofit, ESOP, and corporate environments. She holds the SHRM-SCP designation, underscoring her expertise in strategic human resource management. Makinen earned her degree from Wheaton College and is passionate about creating a supportive workplace culture. When she’s not at work, she enjoys hiking, cycling, and outdoor adventures with her family.
