Blue Crew FIRST Robotics Competition Team 6153 recently partnered with the Western Maine Play Museum to deliver an evening of robots and STEM learning to area youth. Blue Crew received a grant from the Perloff Family Foundation as well as funding from OTIS FCU to host this special event.
Blue Crew is a robotics team made up of students and adult mentors from Mt. Blue High School in Farmington and Spruce Mountain High School in Jay. The team plans to compete in the FIRST Robotics Competition, an international program that challenges high school students to design, program, and build robots to play a field game.
Admission to the event was free. Kids received received a coupon for a free treat from The Frosty Paw ice cream truck while everyone enjoyed robot demonstrations by Blue Crew’s mascot R2 Blue2. Approximately 50 children and more than 100 adults turned out for the evening of fun, science, and of course, robots!
