Opportunity to Show Your Support for Youth Sports Through Sponsorship of New Facility

Six Rivers Youth Sports (SRYS), a nonprofit corporation based in Topsham, is working hard to promote and grow youth sports in Maine’s Midcoast region. SRYS owns a 12-acre parcel of land that includes its field house and the land which was home to the fallen Topsham Sports Dome. The field house currently serves approximately 300 kids each week. While the focus of the facility is largely targeted to youth activities, it is open to all who want to be active.

With the purchase of an ideal site and detailed planning and permitting work complete, SRYS is poised to bring a new community-oriented ice arena and sports complex to the region once they raise the necessary funds. To help, they have launched a “Raise the Rink” capital campaign and are actively seeking interested businesses and community partners who want to offer their financial support to get construction underway. SRYS has raised nearly $3 million towards its $5 million campaign goal.

If your credit union is interested in sponsoring this effort at some level, please contact Izzy Janzen, SRYS Campaign Coordinator, at ijanzen@sixriversyouthsports.org. There are currently 25 Founding Partner funding level opportunities at $25,000, in addition to other philanthropic sponsorship levels and benefits. Five County CU has agreed to serve as one of its Founding Partners. Gifts at any level may be made over a three-year period.

With a regional approach that will serve fifteen towns, the SRYS campus will offer a four-season activity center hosting ice skating and hockey, soccer, lacrosse, pickleball, roller skating, and more. For additional information about the campaign, please click here.
