Not Too Late To Contribute At Host, Welcome Level For League's Fundraiser For Congressman Poliquin

Your League's first-ever Fundraiser for a sitting member of the House Financial Services Committee has already received strong support for its request for contributors at the Host ($500) and Welcome ($250) levels but it is not too late to participate at one of these levels.  The League's Fundraiser for Congressman Poliquin, Maine's first representative to serve on the House Financial Services Committee in nearly 50 years, will be held in conjunction with the Management Roundtable on Tuesday evening, September 22, at the Samoset.

"Since taking office, Congressman Poliquin and his staff have been very receptive to our issues, and has been especially vocal on his desire to reduce the regulatory burden on credit unions.  His statements to the media, during his multiple meetings to credit unions over the past couple of months, and in ongoing communications with your League, have made it clear that he wants to help credit unions.  As a member of the House Financial Services Committee, Congressman Poliquin is certainly in a position to be a powerful voice on behalf of credit union interests.  This Fundraiser is an opportunity to demonstrate our appreciation of the positive comments, and actions that Congressman Poliquin has said and done in support of credit unions during his short time in Congress.  I encourage those credit union leaders who have not contributed at one of these levels to consider doing so," explained your League's President John Murphy.

While contributions are welcome at the event itself, in order to be listed as a member of the Host or Welcome Committee on the Invitation and on the poster that will be displayed at the event, the deadline to pledge a commitment at one of these levels is by Tuesday, September 8, at 5 p.m.

To commit at the $500 or $250 level, please click here; email Kelley Souza at ksouza@mainecul.org; or call Kelley at your League at 800.442.6715, ext. 255.

All contributions are voluntary. Anyone has the right to refuse to contribute without any reprisal.
