Northeast CU Gives More Than $21,000 to Nonprofit Organizations

Northeast CU concluded 2022 with a unique campaign to carry out its mission and empower their members to give back. Through the Pay It Forward initiative, the credit union designated a percentage of every dollar charged on a Northeast CU credit card during the months of November and December to one of three charities. Thanks to this special campaign, the Monarch School of New England, End 68 Hours of Hunger, and Home for Now each received $5,000 to support their life-changing work. Additionally, for every new member who opened a checking account with direct deposit, Northeast CU promised to donate $25 to Neighbor Helping Neighbor, an organization that works to combat today’s soaring energy costs by directly assisting those who need help paying their energy bills. The total contribution from this effort was $6,275.

“We recognize the added pressure that nonprofits face during the holiday season, and we wanted to do our part to help; involving our members was a great way to enable them to help us live out our mission,” shared Chris Parker, President and CEO of Northeast Credit Union. “We’re aware of the impactful work the Monarch School of New England does with its students, and the vital and necessary services Home for Now, End 68 Hours of Hunger, and Neighbor Helping Neighbor all provide to their communities, and we wanted to support that.”

When asked what the donation would mean to their organization, Amanda Martineau, Director of Community Engagement at the Monarch School of New England in Rochester, NH stated, “At the Monarch School of New England, our work begins with a simple premise—that every student has potential, and every student can learn. When local businesses, like Northeast Credit Union, support our work they ensure that our students can benefit from innovative programs, therapies, and resources they rely upon to learn. We’re so grateful to have been a part of the Pay It Forward Campaign. Northeast Credit Union has meaningfully demonstrated that they share our belief in every student’s potential, and have committed to helping them learn, grow, and thrive. We thank them so much for their support and partnership.”
