NorState FCU Supports Local Turkey Drive

As part of NorState FCU’s efforts to end hunger, the credit union spent the day helping the United Way of Aroostook and Townsquare Media’s 2020 High Five Turkey Drive. Last week, Denise Plourde, NorState FCU Commercial Loan Officer, accepted cash and gift card donations from community members at John’s Shurfine and the St. John Valley Pharmacy in Fort Kent. NorState FCU also donated $500 to support the initiative.

“We did well in Fort Kent,” said Lorraine Marston, Townsquare Media Representative. “Denise and I went around getting donations and when we left that night, we had raised over $7,600! That is the most we have ever raised for the food pantries in the St. John Valley during any Turkey Drive. We’re well on our way to make our goal for 2020.”

The United Way of Aroostook and Townsquare Media have a goal of raising $18,000 to help local food pantries purchase turkeys and other goods for families at Thanksgiving. Last year’s Turkey Drive collected over $15,000 in cash and turkey donations.
