Nearly 50 representatives from 17 credit unions attended the Credit Union Orientation hosted by your League and Synergent this past week at the Credit Union Service Center. The bi-annual Orientation provides an opportunity for credit union staff and volunteers to learn more about the support and operations offered to credit unions by your League, Synergent and other credit union-related organizations.
In addition to meeting with various representatives from all Divisions in the organizations, attendees were given a tour of the facility and an opportunity to meet many of the staff that serve and support credit unions on a daily basis. From advocacy, communications, training and awareness from your League to technology services, cards, check processing, direct marketing services and administrative services from Synergent, attendees were treated to a full day of learning. One attendee remarked, "It was nice to put faces with names, as I interact with many of these individuals on a regular basis. Today's visit made it more personal. I enjoyed hearing about all that happens here at the CU Service Center." Another called the day "very interesting and full of information. I learned a lot about the history of credit unions, and about the many ways in which the League and Synergent serve and assist credit unions. I would recommend that all credit union staff and volunteers attend Orientation."
Jane Thomas, your League's Director of Education, who coordinates the CU Orientation, said it was nice to see a strong turnout from credit unions across the state. "We are here to help credit unions in any way we can, and Orientation reinforces that commitment."
