Community spirit was on full display on February 21 as Midcoast FCU’s “Team Fire” participated in Freeport Community Services’ (FCS) Annual Freeze Out fundraiser. On a beautiful and chilly day, the team joined community members from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm to help raise critical funds for FCS’ food and fuel assistance programs. Thanks to the generosity of participants and supporters, this year’s event not only met but exceeded its $20,000 fundraising goal, helping ensure friends and neighbors stay warm and supported during the winter.
The Freeze Out is a cornerstone fundraising event for FCS, helping sustain essential programs that many local residents rely on throughout the colder months. Supporters braved the elements to express their support, demonstrating once again the power of coming together for a shared cause.
Special appreciation goes to Christina and Jeremy; Neeley and her daughter Katie; Lori, Nadia, and Nichole from Thomaston; and Joe and Tena. These Midcoast FCU team members truly knew how to feed the flame, especially on a cold day!
