Midcoast FCU President/CEO Joseph Gervais and Senior Vice President of Marketing/IT Lori Marquis received a notable honor last week. Both were recognized with a Patriot Award. The award, sponsored by Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, reflects their efforts to support employees serving in the military.
“I am honored to have veterans serving our members,” said Joseph Gervais, President/CEO at Midcoast FCU. “My experience has been that military training generates dedicated and hardworking employees, worthy of providing opportunities for retraining and advancement.”
The Patriot Award is given to individual supervisors to reflect the efforts made to support employees currently serving in any of the branches’ reserves. Assistance can range from providing flexible schedules, time off before and after a deployment, caring for families, or granting leaves of absence.
Gervais and Marquis were nominated for the award by Midcoast FCU Marketing Manager Andrew Mockler, who is a former member of the Marine Corps Reserves.
