Maine State CU is excited to announce the expansion of its back-office operations to a new facility in Farmingdale, located down the road from its headquarters in Augusta. The 9,000-square-foot location will serve as the home base for its operations and support teams and solidify its commitment to Central Maine.
“We are growing,” said Stephen Wallace, President and CEO at Maine State CU. “Most of our employees are in Central Maine, and I wanted a state-of-the-art back-office facility close to where they live. This location fits all the requirements; it is in Central Maine and close to our headquarters in Augusta.”
The new operations center is located at 347 Maine Ave in Farmingdale and will be the new home for its eBranch call center, loan servicing, and online lending teams. Other departments may move to the location as their groups outgrow their current space in Augusta. The space will also house a fitness center and have an ATM for members to use. The new location will open in the spring.
The headquarters for Maine State CU is at 200 Capitol Street in Augusta. This location serves as its primary retail branch location. Over the past several years, this branch location has seen an influx of in-person traffic and will expand its retail presence to occupy the entire first floor of the building.
Maine State CU opened branches in Gray and Rockland in 2022 and 2023, which has propelled growth in loans, deposits, and the need for its eBranch call center, which currently handles over 300 daily calls. They will open a new branch in Belfast in 2025.
“As a result of the expansion of our branch network and having a premium digital banking platform, we have seen remarkable growth over the past several years,” said Wallace. “We will only continue to grow and be one of the largest employers in Central Maine.”
