Maine Savings FCU has named Chris Nill Vice President of Loss Mitigation. In this role, Nill leads the credit union’s efforts to help members work through financial challenges and find their way back to stability.

Nill brings 20 years of experience in the Maine credit union industry, nearly all of it spent in loss mitigation. He began his career as a teller at Penobscot County FCU before moving into loss mitigation within a year. Aside from a brief stint as an indirect loan officer, Nill has dedicated his career to helping members through difficult financial circumstances, including roles at Bangor FCU and a credit union service organization (CUSO), where he focused on helping members stay in their homes.

“Chris has spent two decades building trust with members during some of the most difficult moments in their financial lives, and that experience is exactly what our members deserve,” said Vanessa Madore, President & CEO of Maine Savings FCU. “He understands that behind every account is a person navigating a real challenge, and he brings the patience and knowledge to help them find their path through it. Chris is a strong addition to our team.”

“Loss mitigation is where our commitment to members is put into practice,” said Erin Campbell, Chief Financial Officer of Maine Savings FCU. “Chris’ track record shows he can achieve results that work for members while supporting the long-term financial health of the credit union. That balance is exactly what this role requires. We are proud to have him join our team.”

Nill takes pride in building relationships with members grounded in trust, working toward outcomes that support both the member and the credit union. Outside of work, he is a passionate live music fan, particularly of Dave Matthews Band, and enjoys attending concerts across genres, often alongside his wife, Julie. He lives in Brewer, where he spends his free time following the Celtics, Bruins, Red Sox, and Patriots; golfing; and enjoying his vinyl record collection.
