October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Maine Highlands FCU showed their support all month long. With two of their own employees currently undergoing treatment, the cause hits close to home.
Armed in pink, the credit union held a monthlong internal fundraiser to benefit the Lafayette Family Cancer Institute in Brewer and the Harold Alfond Center for Cancer Care in Augusta. Each Friday, employees of the credit union could donate $3 to dress casual and show that they are “Maine Highlands Strong!”
This is another example that demonstrates how People Helping People is truly at the heart of what credit unions do.
