Maine Family FCU is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Zogo, a pioneering financial technology company, to offer an innovative financial literacy app to its members and the local community. Developed by a group of Duke University students, the Zogo app is designed to engage teens with over 800 interactive, bite-sized financial education modules that align with national financial literacy standards.
With 84% of teens looking to their parents for guidance on money matters, according to a Junior Achievement study, the need for accessible financial education has never been greater. Yet, T. Rowe Price’s 11th Annual Parents, Kids, and Money Survey reveals that nearly half of parents feel they miss opportunities to discuss finances with their children, and a quarter are hesitant to bring up financial topics. Despite this, the survey also found that three out of four parents believe financial apps are an effective tool for teaching money management.
“We grew up without the right tools to learn about finance,” said Bolin Li, CEO and Co-Founder of Zogo. “With Zogo, we set out to create an educational experience that our generation would actually use and enjoy. We’re excited to partner with Maine Family FCU to bring this vision to life.”
Dan Clarke, President and CEO of Maine Family FCU, expressed his enthusiasm for the new partnership:
“At Maine Family FCU, we’re committed to empowering our members and our community with the knowledge and tools they need to achieve financial success. The Zogo app is a fantastic resource that makes learning about finances engaging and accessible for mobile-savvy generations. We’re proud to offer this valuable tool to help build a financially literate community.”
The Zogo app rewards users with points for successfully completing quizzes, which can be redeemed for gift cards and other incentives, making learning about finances both fun and rewarding. The Zogo app is now available at no cost on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. New users can enter the code MFFCU during registration.
