Maine Family FCU is proud to announce a $30,000 donation to Trinity Jubilee Center to support the installation of a walk-in freezer in its new building under construction at 123 Bates Street in Lewiston. This essential upgrade will significantly enhance the center’s capacity to serve the community by storing and distributing perishable food to those in need.
Trinity Jubilee Center has been a vital resource for the Lewiston/Auburn area for over 30 years, providing critical services such as meal programs, food pantry assistance, a day shelter, and other support services to vulnerable populations. The new walk-in freezer will enable the organization to increase its food storage capacity, reduce waste, and better respond to the growing demand for its programs.
“At Maine Family FCU, we are committed to making a meaningful impact in our community,” said Dan Clarke, President/CEO. “Supporting Trinity Jubilee Center’s efforts aligns perfectly with our mission to foster stability and well-being for all residents. We are honored to contribute to such an important project and help ensure that more individuals and families have access to nutritious food.”
The new building, slated to open later in 2025, will provide enhanced facilities for the center’s programs, including a larger kitchen, expanded pantry space, and improved accessibility. The walk-in freezer funded by Maine Family FCU will be a cornerstone of these improvements, allowing Trinity Jubilee Center to store larger quantities of donated and purchased perishable items.
“This donation is a game-changer for our organization and the people we serve,” said Erin Reed, Executive Director of Trinity Jubilee Center. “The walk-in freezer will ensure that we can maximize our resources, minimize food waste, and expand our reach in the community. We are incredibly grateful for Maine Family FCU’s generous support”.
The donation underscores Maine Family FCU’s commitment to addressing food insecurity and supporting local initiatives that strengthen the community.
