The Maine Human Rights Commission will be holding a Fair Housing Summit on May 1 at the Augusta Civic Center. Registration is free and open to the public.
Planned sessions include:
- Discrimination in Real Estate Appraisals: Tate-Austin and Other Case Discussion
- Best Practices for Housing Attorneys at the MHRC
- Understanding Implicit and Explicit Bias
- Intersection of the Violence Against Women Act
- The Fair Housing Act and the Maine Human Rights Act
- Homelessness and Affordable Housing in Maine
There will be two housing-related tracks throughout the day including a General Fair Housing track and a Real Estate Transactions and Appraisals track. Anyone who is interested in attending the event, which begins at 8:30 am, must register in advance online.
