Maine CUs Invited To Participate In Free Compliance Webinar

Understanding compliance and the accompanying challenges facing credit unions with these issues is among the highest areas of focus these days for Maine credit unions.  Since 2008, there have been nearly 200 new rules and regulations added so complying with all of them, on top of existing regulations, has become even more cumbersome.  To help, the National Credit Union Administration is offering a free compliance webinar on July 21 for credit union staff, and Maine credit unions are invited to participate.

The webinar, "Fine Tuning Your Compliance Program: Common Compliance Violations," will look at compliance best practices and common violations and provide valuable information to help participants learn about the best ways to avoid violations.

Diane Rector and Kathryn Baxter of the NCUA's Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives will host the webinar and lead a panel discussion. The panel will examine common compliance areas of interest and discuss ways credit unions can navigate common issues.

The 90-minute webinar is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m., on Tuesday, July 21, and will include a question-and-answer session. Qualifying attendees will be offered a certificate of attendance.
