Team Connected CU participates at their first-ever meal packing event on May 8 with the Bath YMCA and Special Olympics Maine.
On May 8, Maine credit unions joined forces with Special Olympics Maine and the Bath Area Family YMCA to help address food insecurity in local communities through a special meal-packing event.
Together, volunteers packed 10,000 meals, totaling nearly 1,500 pounds of food, to support individuals across Maine, including Special Olympics Maine athletes and their families.
The event brought together credit union employees and community volunteers for a day centered on service, collaboration, and giving back. Along with volunteering their time, many Maine credit unions contributed financial donations through the Campaign for Ending Hunger to support this collaborative event.
Credit unions participating through volunteerism, donations, or both included:
- Ancorum CU
- Atlantic FCU
- Community CU
- Connected CU
- Cumberland County FCU
- Maine Credit Union League
- Maine Family FCU
- Maine State CU
- Midcoast FCU
- OTIS FCU
- UCU
Following the event, the Bath Area Family YMCA on social media shared, “Access to healthy food plays an important role in overall health, wellness, and connection, and we are proud to work alongside partners who share that commitment to our community.”
The meal packing event reflected the strong commitment Maine credit unions share in supporting the health and well-being of their communities.

Fifteen Midcoast FCU employees wearing bright orange Midcoast shirts had a great time coming together so support the meal packing event in Bath.
