Paul Doody
Maine State CU is proud to announce that Paul Doody has joined the organization as Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking. With nearly 40 years of banking experience, including over 30 years of serving businesses in Waldo County, Doody will focus on business development, commercial lending growth, and enhancing the credit union’s presence along the midcoast, with a special emphasis on the upcoming Belfast branch, set to open in 2026.
“We are thrilled to welcome Paul to our team,” said Stephen Wallace, President & CEO of Maine State CU. “His leadership in commercial banking, combined with his strong relationships in Knox and Waldo Counties, will help us strengthen business development, expanding our presence in Belfast and beyond.”
Doody brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served in branch management, regional leadership, and commercial lending. He is well known for his community involvement, currently serving as Treasurer and Board Member of the Northport Golf Club. He has also held leadership roles as President of the Belfast Rotary Club, President of the Belfast Area Chamber of Commerce, Treasurer and Board Member of the Waldo County YMCA, and Board Member and Committee Member of the Belfast Curling Club.
“Paul’s decades of expertise and deep community connections make him an ideal fit for our mission,” said Bruce Harrington, Head of Commercial Banking. “His understanding of local businesses and commitment to the Midcoast will help us expand commercial lending and deliver solutions that drive long-term growth for our members and communities.”
Doody said he was drawn to Maine State CU’s growth strategy and commitment to community. “Maine State CU is known as one of the best and fastest growing in the state. Given the new office’s construction in Belfast and my experience in this market, it seemed a win-win situation for both parties. I am excited to be part of an organization that is committed to its members, its employees, and to Maine communities.”
Outside of work, Doody is an avid golfer and curler, often traveling throughout Maine and Canada to enjoy these activities.
