Volunteers with Lisbon Area Christian Outreach accept a donation from Ron Hood, Marketing Officer at Lisbon Community FCU.
Last year, Lisbon Community FCU raised $19,146.94 to support Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger. The funds raised were recently distributed to two deserving organizations in the community.
The credit union donated $14,360.21 to Lisbon Area Christian Outreach and $4,786.73 to St. Mary’s Food Pantry in Lewiston. Both organizations have important missions to feed those facing food insecurity.
To raise dollars, the credit union hosted a variety of fundraisers throughout the year including a popular cash calendar, summer basket raffle, and “pay to wear jeans days.” The credit union also shares information on how to donate to the Campaign on its website.
