Lewiston-Area Credit Unions Give Back to First Responders

Credit unions in the Lewiston-area came together this week to give back to first responders leading up to the one-year anniversary of the Lewiston shootings. Visits were made to the following organizations, feeding approximately 326 first responders: Lewiston Police Department; Lisbon Police Department; Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office; 911 Dispatch; St. Mary’s Medical Center; Central Maine Medical Center; United Ambulance; and Maine Resiliency Center.

“On behalf of our local credit unions, we wanted to express our deepest gratitude for the courageous and selfless response during last year’s mass shootings,” shared Jennifer Hogan, President/CEO of Community CU. “We are in awe of their bravery, professionalism, and quick action during such an unimaginable tragedy. Their dedication to protecting and caring for our community—even in the most harrowing circumstances—did not go unnoticed. We also want to recognize the emotional and physical toll this must have taken on each of them, and let them know that their efforts mean the world to us. They are truly our heroes and we are forever grateful for their service and commitment to our safety.”
