League's 2015 Hike The Hill Trip Announced

Join your League and other credit union officials in Washington, D.C., this October for two days of discussions and insight with each member of Maine's Congressional Delegation.  It's your League's Annual Hike the Hill trip and it is happening October 5-7.  A block of hotel rooms have been reserved, and the time for participants to register to be part of the trip is officially underway.

"Our Hike the Hill trip is an important part of our advocacy and communication efforts with the members of our Congressional Delegation and their staffs.  This trip is different from the Annual Governmental Affairs Conference in the winter, in that we meet with each member of the Delegation individually and have an opportunity to discuss a wide range of issues and topics.  The Delegation appreciates us coming to Washington to meet with them, and having a solid group of participants reinforces our strong involvement and engagement on the issues and in the political process.  We encourage anyone interested to join us on this trip, and we hope to have a diverse group of credit unions from across the state represented," explained your League's Jon Paradise, Vice President of Governmental & Public Affairs.

While the itinerary for the trip is still being finalized, most attendees fly down on Monday afternoon as the Hike begins with a Reception and Briefing from the Credit Union National Association's (CUNA) legislative staff at CU House on Monday, October 5, from 5 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.  Your League will host a group dinner for all attendees at the Capitol Grille.  Meetings with the Delegation will take place on Tuesday, October 6, and Wednesday morning, October 7.  Most participants will return to Maine late Wednesday afternoon.
