The League is pleased to welcome attendees representing 34 credit unions to the Volunteers’ Conference, taking place today and tomorrow at the Samoset Resort in Rockport. This annual event brings together credit union volunteers from across the state to hear from League and industry leaders on relevant topics including board duties, CEO compensation, advocacy, and more.
Participants also will hear from special guest speaker Scott Brown, former U.S. Senator and Ambassador to New Zealand and the Independent State of Samoa. Brown will address the conference at 3:00 pm today and share his insights on the political environment and current international events.
“Scott Brown has lived a life of public service,” said Robert Caverly, League Vice President of Advocacy & Outreach. “Brown has served in our nation’s uniform, the Massachusetts State House, the United States Senate, as an Ambassador, and as a basketball coach in his community. His experiences and knowledge will be both informative and inspirational to those attending the Volunteers’ Conference.”

The 2022 Volunteers’ Conference will conclude on Saturday, following a session led by Kevin Smith from TEAM Resources on the balanced scorecard approach to CEO oversight.
