League Meets with State Legislative Leaders in Augusta

On February 14, the League’s Governmental Affairs team, along with League President/CEO Todd Mason and Chief Relationship Officer Scott Johnsen, met with the leaders of the 131st Legislature. Admiration was in the air as meeting attendees spoke about the impact credit unions have on Maine’s communities.

“It was great to meet with Senate and House leadership and hear about their connections to credit unions,” said Robert Caverly, League Vice President of Advocacy & Outreach. “Each office we visited listened to our priorities and committed to working with us this legislative session.”

Democratic and Republican leaders indicated their willingness to support League policies and shared personal stories about the impact credit unions have had on their lives and in the districts where they serve. This goodwill will be helpful in moving our credit union policy agenda forward during the remaining months of the legislative session.
