While some results are still being tabulated, over 95% of League-endorsed candidates at both the state and federal levels won their races in Maine’s general election this week.
Democrats will retain control of the Blaine House and the State Legislature, with Republicans picking up at least one seat in the House. In the race for Maine’s second congressional district, Congressman Jared Golden (D) retains a lead over Republican Bruce Poliquin, but with neither candidate receiving 50% of the vote, it will head to a ranked-choice runoff.
For a full recap on Maine’s election results and the impact national races will have on credit union advocacy, please join the League’s Governmental Affairs team during the November 14 Town Hall at 1:00 pm. If you have not been receiving Zoom meeting invitations for Town Halls and would like to add your name to the list, please email Jordan Inkley at jinkley@mainecul.org.
To find local race results, updates are being provided on both the Bangor Daily News and Press Herald’s websites.
