CUNA’s National Awards Committee announced the 2023 recipients of the Dora Maxwell Social Responsibility Community Service Award, Louise Herring Philosophy-in-Action Member Service Award, and Desjardins Awards for Financial Education. Both the League and Community CU are being honored for their work—with the League winning two categories and Community CU winning one.
The League received a first-place finish in the Dora Maxwell and the Desjardins Adult categories. Community CU was recognized with top honors for their asset size in the Dora Maxwell category. The credit union also received a second-place finish in the Louise Herring category and an honorable mention for the Desjardins Youth category.
About this year’s award winners, Jim Nussle, CUNA’s President/CEO shared, “Congratulations to this year’s winners for the exemplary work done for their communities and the members they serve. These leaders have made it their mission as credit union advocates to promote financial well-being. Each winner has demonstrated a passion in helping others, advancing their communities, and making a difference. I applaud their commitment to the credit union movement.”
