The League’s Annual Meeting is happening later today, and for the first time ever, will be convened in a virtual environment. The Annual Meeting and Convention is an event that traditionally takes place at the Holiday Inn by the Bay in Portland, but due to COVID-19 and social distancing limitations, the League is utilizing an online format.
“It was important for us to hold our Annual Board Meeting as scheduled,” said Todd Mason, President/CEO of the Maine Credit Union League and Synergent. “Part of adapting to our new normal means embracing new ways of doing things. Fortunately, we have access to innovative technology tools that allow us to conduct our business just as we had planned to do.”
During the meeting, the delegates will elect one at-large director seat, approve committee reports including the dues structure for next year, and vote on several housekeeping changes to the League Bylaws. Todd Mason will provide the President’s Report, which will contain a brief overview of the state’s credit union landscape, as well as Synergent’s integrated technology solutions.
In addition, Community Credit Union will be recognized for 75 years of service to their members, Scott Harriman, President/CEO of Cumberland County FCU, will be recognized for his four years of service on the League board, and Jason Lindstrom, President/CEO of Evergreen CU, will be welcomed to the Board at the conclusion of the meeting.
“I know we all look forward to this event each year, but the health and safety of our employees, volunteers, and members comes first,” said Mason. “While I wish we were meeting in-person, our important work must continue without interruption. Using online platforms, at least for the foreseeable future, will be the best way to effectively collaborate.”
Convention yearbooks and the annual pins will be mailed to credit unions in early June.
