Kennebec Valley Chapter introduces new Facebook page

One of the strengths of the CU System is the Chapter System and, as evidenced by your League’s renewed focus on Chapters and ways to help make them even stronger, things are starting to happen.  This week, the Kennebec Valley Chapter of Credit Unions introduced a new Facebook Page.

Vicki Larrabee, President/CEO of Gardiner FCU and Chapter Secretary, explained, “The purpose of the page is to show us working together to support the credit union philosophy.  It will show various events and highlight ways in which credit union collaboration benefits everyone.”

As previously mentioned, your League will be facilitating a Strategic Planning Session for Chapters soon, and continue to look for ways to increase Chapter awareness and participation.  “The Chapters are an arm of the League, and an important piece of the cooperative spirit.  We want to support initiatives that will provide learning, networking and collaboration opportunities.  From fundraising to financial fitness fairs, Chapters do a lot to further the credit union mission and for their communities.  We are excited to look at new ways to engage credit union staff in Chapter activities, including looking at lunch and coffee meetings for younger staff, and share best practices for Chapter meetings.  It’s great to see the Kennebec Valley Chapter of CUs creating a Facebook page on their own.  We hope this is just the beginning,” said Jon Paradise, Vice President of Public Affairs and Engagement, one of the individuals who your League has designated to help strengthen Chapters across the state.
