The results are in. Katahdin FCU’s Sixth Annual Ending Hunger Golf Tournament raised just over $10,000 for Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger. Fifty-four golfers took to the Hillcrest Golf Club in Millinocket on September 10 to show their support for the Campaign—many of whom have played every year since the tournament began. The event concluded with the golfers participating in a spirited putting contest.
“Every year we are overwhelmed by the support of the community and our members in the efforts to fight hunger insecurity through the Maine Credit Union’s Ending Hunger Campaign,” said Tina Jamo, President/CEO of Katahdin FCU. “I am so proud of our staff—they have really embraced this project.”
Proceeds from the event will be distributed to the following local food pantries and organizations:
- I Care Ministries Food Pantry
- Christ the Divine Mercy Parish Food Pantry
- Tri-Town Baptist Food Pantry
- Agape Food Pantry
- Chester Baptist Church Food Pantry
- Eastern Area Agency on Aging
Jamo exclaimed how Gay Dickinson from the credit union oversaw the event and did a fantastic job ensuring it was such a big success. She also expressed her thanks to the many local business and credit union sponsors who helped make the tournament possible.
Congratulations to all involved!
