The polar bear is back and ready to tee off to support Special Olympics Maine and Maine Credit Unions’ Campaign for Ending Hunger. PeoplesChoice CU is once again hosting its popular annual golf tournament—now in its 21st year—on October 7 at the Woodlands Club in Falmouth. The event will begin with a shot-gun start at 11:00 am.
Registration is now open, giving you a fantastic opportunity to join your credit union colleagues on the greens to benefit two important causes. Sponsorships at a variety of levels are also available. If your credit union donates $250 to become a hole sponsor, PeoplesChoice CU will reciprocally donate $250 toward a future event hosted by your credit union. Through this spirit of cooperation, credit unions will be able to do even more to benefit their communities!
Last year, PeoplesChoice CU raised $17,833 bringing their 20-year total of funds raised from this event to $266,734! From these funds, $166,734 has directly benefited the Campaign for Ending Hunger and $100,000 supported Maine’s Special Olympians.
Polar bear swag featuring a winter-themed version of the Woodlands Woodpecker will be available for sale. Credit unions and businesses that sponsor above the $2,000-level will receive a free branded quarter-zip shirt. The popular skirt drive also will be back to add to the day’s festivities!
