Recently, your League advertised and promoted its search for the next Young & Free Maine Spokester. While we received significant positive exposure with media interviews and on social media about the program, we did not receive a sufficient number of applications that met our desired level of experience this year. As a result, Mallory Lavoie, the current Spokester, has been selected to serve another year in that role.
Over the past year, the program has seen significant membership and account growth, along with increased visibility for Maine’s Credit Unions. Our current Spokester, Mallory Lavoie, has greatly contributed to this success. Since this year’s search was looking for a person to fill the position for two years, we are excited to announce Mallory will continue for another year as our Spokester. She has traveled to over 80 events this year, representing the 18-to-25 crowd, and has been an advocate for her generation. She has done this by visiting credit unions, speaking, writing and filming on how credit unions are young adults’ best financial partner.
Debra Trautman, VP of Marketing for your League, stated, “We will continue to work with Currency Marketing, the agency that developed the program. We are in a strong position to build on what has been accomplished the past four years and leverage Young & Free to a new level. We look forward to having Mallory continue in the role of Young & Free Spokester for the next year.”
According to your League, the strong media coverage highlighting the search resulted in increased web traffic to youngfreemaine.com, and additional posts about the benefits of the Program. "The Program received lots of attention in recent weeks, and we will look to build upon the high level of interest," added Trautman.
