A strong line-up of speakers and topics awaits attendees to your League's Annual Management Roundtable happening on September 22-23, at the Samoset Resort in Rockport. One of the speakers this year will be Dennis Dollar, former NCUA Board Chair, who will share his unique perspective and experience in discussing the challenges and opportunities facing credit unions today including the ability to overcome a regulatory environment that plays a significant role in credit union growth.
In addition to Dollar, the line-up of speakers at the Roundtable promises to give attendees plenty to think about and discuss. Your League's President John Murphy kicks off the Roundtable on Tuesday afternoon, September 22, with a presentation and open discussion on issues unique to Maine's credit unions, and share ideas to help strengthen credit unions in the marketplace, as well as seek feedback from attendees regarding their thoughts, ideas and concerns. Dollar follows Murphy's presentation to complete the first day's schedule. A Reception and Dinner, sponsored by Synergent, CUNA Mutual and Tricorp FCU, for attendees begins at 5:30 p.m.
On Wednesday, September 23, Lee Wetherington, who was well-received when he spoke at your League's Annual Meeting & Convention in 2013, returns with a presentation called "Branch of the Future: A Fact Check on Where We Are, What Works and What Doesn't." Wetherington, who is the Director of Strategic Insight for ProfitStars®, a division of Jack Henry & Associates, is a leading expert on the impact of new technologies on financial services. In his presentation, he will explore branch trends and designs, and provide a forecast of what the future holds. After Wetherington, a Panel of Maine CU CEOs will lead a discussion of current topics and best practices with attendees, a panel that highlights the cooperative strength of credit unions when it comes to sharing ideas, opportunities and challenges. A pause for lunch leads to a dynamic speaker to close out the Roundtable. One of the more popular credit union speakers, Patrick Adams, brings his enthusiasm and passion for credit unions to a session that explores changing consumer attitudes and habits in the wake of new tools and services in how financial services transactions are conducted.
