Evergreen CU is Going Pink in October

In October, Evergreen CU is “going pink” in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. October also happens to be the month that International Credit Union Day occurs, and this year’s theme, “Local Service, Global Reach,” provides another platform for Evergreen CU to tie their awareness and fundraising efforts to. ICU Day is all about recognizing the important contributions credit unions make in their communities and this is one special cause Evergreen CU is proud to get behind all month long!

“As Evergreen Credit Union continues its work as a partner in our local community, we felt the American Cancer Society’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month was something we could support,” said Jason Lindstrom, President/CEO of Evergreen CU. “Upon discussing the options, using the platform of International Credit Union Day and the month of October will allow us to make a statement to help put an end to cancer.”

Throughout the month, and especially on October 17, staff will be encouraged to wear pink. In addition, pink baked goods and coffee will be available for members and donation buckets for the American Cancer Society will be on display at all Evergreen CU branches.  The credit union will hand out pink awareness bracelets to anyone who donates $5 or more and will match all donations received.

“The International Credit Union Day theme this year is ‘Local Service. Global Reach,’ so we are using that theme as the basis for our giveback,” said Lindstrom. “Many suffer from cancer globally and we can do our part to help locally.”
