Dupuis officially retires; Marquis assumes President/CEO title at Five County CU

After nearly 40 years at the helm of Five County CU, Richard Dupuis officially retired from that role on June 1st. As had been previously announced by the credit union, Julie Marquis, who served as EVP for a number of years, has assumed the role as President/CEO of the credit union. Marquis has been with the credit union for the past 23 years. In addition to becoming President/CEO, Marquis was also appointed to replace Dupuis as the Secretary/Treasurer of the Board for his remaining, unexpired term.

"I am very appreciative to the Board and to Richard for helping me to accomplish this opportunity. I've been around credit unions for many years, and look forward to continuing my career in this capacity. Richard was a great leader and mentor, and it is exciting to follow in his footsteps. We have a great Board and staff in place and we have been planning for Richard's retirement for the past year, which has made the transition much easier."

Dupuis joined Five County CU in 1977 when it was then-known as BIW Employees FCU. In addition to serving as President/CEO at the CU, Dupuis was involved in a number of positions in the Maine CU System including serving on the Maine CU League's Board, including three years as Board Chair, Chair of the League's Awards & Convention Committee for many years, and a Trustee for the Insurance Trust.

John Murphy, President of the Maine CU League, extended his best wishes to Dick on his retirement, and to Julie in her new position. "We again appreciate Dick's many contributions and service to the Maine CU System for many years, and look forward to working with Julie and to provide any support and assistance we can."
