Downeast CU Announces Management Promotions


Downeast CU has promoted several team members to new roles in an effort to restructure and position the credit union for future growth. The following team members have received promotions:

  • Tonia Lanier has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Lending & Branch Operations.
    • Tonia has worked her entire 25-year career at Downeast CU with the last 13 serving as a vice president. In addition to lending and the branch network, she will also provide oversight to the collections department. Tonia has been and continues to be a substantial contributor to organizational culture, professional development, and sales and service to the membership.
  • Bette Tomah has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Internal Operations.
    • Bette has been serving Downeast CU and its membership for the past 28 years, 14 as a vice president, and has been instrumental in the credit union’s growth. Bette has managed several large projects for the credit union with exceptional project management skills. Bette will be taking on additional responsibilities providing oversight to the IT department and the newly created contact center and digital branch.
  • Matthew Fleming has been promoted to Senior Vice President of Administration and will continue to serve as Chief Financial Officer.
    • Matthew has been with Downeast CU for almost two years and continues to provide a vast amount of guidance, value, and support. Matthew will be adding human resources and marketing oversight to his current responsibilities of accounting and finance.
  • Nikki Seeley has been promoted to Digital Services Manager.
    • Nikki has been selfless in her efforts to support Downeast CU and its membership for the past 12 years. Nikki has served as a senior member service representative and continues to excel in several administrative areas including digital services, vendor management, and internal audit. She is now managing and leading the newly created contact center and digital branch. Nikki will continue with her administrative responsibilities and vendor management oversight.
